This return match drawn after Yorkshire 2nd XI followed on 131 runs behind on first innings. The match between the two sides at Harrogate in July had been won by Yorkshire 2nd XI. Yorkshire in their second innings had to bat for 2 hours and 50 minutes to save the match. For Staffordshire, there were 6 fours in Nichols's 71, 4 fours in Briggs's 68 and 8 fours in Vost's 54. For Yorkshire, there were 5 fours in Newstead's 51 not out.
