The match was played on what was reported as being the first sunny day at King's Lynn for a fortnight, and the ground was described as being low-lying and not fully recovered from recent heavy rains. For the winners, Morris took 13 wickets in the match for 57 runs, including 8 for 35 in the Norfolk second innings. There were 8 fours in Turnbull's 64. For the losers, Allsopp took 6 wickets for 62 runs in the Durham innings. Collinson made the highest score with 30 in the Norfolk first innings.
