Surrey 2nd XI won this return match shortly after lunch on the second day. The match between the two sides at Poole in July had also been won by Surrey. For the winners, Thompson took 11 wickets in the match for 118 runs, including 8 for 59 in the Dorset first innings. Goatly top-scored with 35. For the losers, Sewell took 11 wickets for 125 runs, including 7 for 71 in the Surrey first innings. Gordon scored 54.
