Nottinghamshire 2nd XI won by an innings and 30 runs on the first day. For the winners Riley took 14 wickets in the match for 31 runs, including 9 for 11 in the Cheshire second innings which was statistically the best innings bowling performance of the season. No batsman scored fifty. The match run aggregate of 212 was the lowest of the season for a completed match. On the first day Cheshire were dismissed before lunch before Smoker arrived at the ground.
