Suffolk won this return match by 7 wickets on the second day. Suffolk were set a victory target of 109 runs in over three hours. The match between the two sides at Watford in June had also been won by Suffolk. For the winners, there were 1 six and 4 fours in H L Wilson's 57. In the Suffolk first innings, Mustard and H L Wilson added 87 runs for the seventh wicket. In the Suffolk second innings, a fast ball from Coleman hit Quaife and caused his temporary retirement. He returned to bat at the fall of the second wicket at 87. S H Hill-Wood withdrew on the morning of the match because his split hand had not fully recovered. A H Lang was wired but was unable to play, and Lewis was requisitioned to fill the vacancy.
