This card comes from the Minor Counties Research Project - research is continuing on this scorecard which can be expected to change.
This return match was drawn with Monmouthshire winning on first innings. The Monmouthshire declaration Glamorgan just 95 minutes
to score the 245 runs need for victory. The game between the two sides at Swansea in June had also been drawn. Drizzle delayed the start on the second day by 30 minutes. For the home team, Steeples took 12 wickets in the match for 69 runs. There were 10 fours in Diver's 67. For Glamorgan Creber took 11 wickets in the game for 174 runs. The 87.5 overs bowled by Creber were the most in a match during the season, and the 45 overs he bowled in the second innings were the second most bowled in an innings. As a protest against the delayed declaration, when he went in to bat Creber declined to run and it was estimated that at least 10 runs were 'lost' in this way. He was loudly barracked by the crowd and a great cheer went up when he was dismissed caught behind the wicket.
