Glamorgan won this match by 41 runs at 5.15 pm on the second day, after bowling out Wiltshire in their second innings for 93 runs. For the winners, Russell took 12 wickets in the match for 74 runs and his 92 included 15 fours. Russell became the first player ever to score a hundred runs and take 10 wickets in a championship match. Russell and J H Brain put on 138 runs for the third wicket in the Glamorgan first innings. There were 7 fours and 4 fours respectively in J H Brain's two innings of 74 and 53. For the losers, Smith took 12 wickets for 107 runs and Radcliffe's 71 included 10 fours. In the Wiltshire first innings, Radcliffe and George had a partnership of 70 runs for the eighth wicket. When taking his first wicket in the Wiltshire second innings, S Lowe took his hundredth Championship wicket. He was the first Glamorgan player to reach this career milestone.
