Glamorgan won by 10 wickets just before 3.30 pm on the second day. For the winners, Creber took 13 wickets in the match for 93 runs, including 7 for 57 in the Monmouthshire second innings. R Lowe top-scored with 63. W H Brain's 3 stumpings in the match were equal highest of the season with 4 others. In the Glamorgan first innings, R Lowe and W H Brain added over 50 runs for the seventh wicket. For the losers, Steeples took 7 wickets for 70 runs in the Glamorgan first innings. Debutant Hogg top-scored with 38. The run aggregate of 453 was the second lowest of the season for a completed match.
