Worcestershire won this low-scoring first-ever encounter between these two teams by 90 runs before 4.00 pm on the second day. For the losers, Nash took 10 wickets in the match for 132 runs. Wheldon top-scored in the match with 45 for Worcestershire. Reports in Buckinghamshire newspapers were critical of several decisions by the Worcestershire umpire, but he was not named. Concerns continued to be voiced in some quarters about the suitability of the Aylesbury pitch for two-day Championship matches. [In the Worcestershire second innings, the runs conceded by Nash have been adjusted from 79 to 73 to become closer in line with the published Buckinghamshire averages.]
