Highlights: A close encounter at the Lifeskills bowl saw the visitors Hallam edge the match with Whiston PC. Hallam batted first with opener Nick Dymnock (22) supported by Harry Bliss. The key part of the innings was the 5th wicket stand of 84 between Bliss who hit a patient 74 and Jess Hemmingway who hit a lively 45. A hard hitting unbeaten 29 from A Davies enabled Hallam to set a competitive 238 for 6. Andy Ivill took 3 for 77. Whiston's response was dominated by a masterclass from Andy Tomlinson who was supported by Scott Jones (43) with an opening stand of 102. Subsequent contributions alongside Tomlinson came from James Martin (22) and Pete Wilson (32). The key moment came on 210 with 5 overs to go as Tomlinson was caught by the keeper having hit an excellent 96 (9 fours and 1 six). Whiston were to end up 12 runs short, 9 wickets down, but had the consolation of bagging 2 bonus points. Jess Hemmingway took 3 for 55 and Neil Mountjoy 3 for 49.
