No bowling figures were printed in the Accrington Observer.
The Accrington Oserver reported that: "about five or ten minutes after the game had been declared a win for Enfield by one run, it was found that the scorer's books did not agree. The Rishton scorer had 25 runs to the credit of Albert Smith, whilst the Enfield scorer had only 24 runs. Quite a scene ensued and the upshot was that Mr Appleby got the scoring books and handed them over to the umpires who will have the custody of them until a special meeting of the League, which has been called for next Tuesday evening to consider the dispute".
It was decided at this meeting that the match should be replayed on Wednesday 9th August.
