			Hello and welcome to the coverage of the second Test match in the three-match series between India and South Africa, being played at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera, just outside of Ahmedabad.
			The series moves on after the high-scoring but ultimately resultless first Test match in Chennai means that both sides know they can take a big stride towards a series win with a positive result here, given the third Test is being played at traditionall draw-friendly conditions of Kanpur. The bowlers know they have to produce a much better showing here than they did on the flat, lifeless track last week which saw 1498 runs scored and just 25 wickets lost - including three centuries and the amazing triple by Virender Sehwag, the fastest ever.
			So, what of this game? It is thought that the spinners will have more of an advantage as they have over the recent past, none more so than Harbhajan Singh who claimed ten wickets in the match last time he played here against Sri Lanka. While this may be the case for the spinners, the South African quicks have been instructed to target Sehwag more to prevent a repeat of this exploits in Chennai.
			Whether the spinners have a huge say remains to be seen but India's captain Anil Kumble is a doubt for this game with a groin problem while the seam pair of RP Singh and Ishant Sharma, who was called up to the squad having been left out of the first Test through injury, look the most likely to miss out therefore giving Irfan Pathan a starting place, while Piyush Chawla might get a nod too. Of course, the biggest news on the injury front is the absence of Sachin Tendulkar. His place could just be taken by an extra bowler although Yuvraj Singh might come into contention, giving India four spin options if Kumble makes it. While the Indians might have had to make a few changes, there is no such issues for South Africa, who are fairly sure to stay with the same XI from Chennai.
			This will be the 21st time these sides have met and it's the visitors who hold the upper hand with a 9-4 head-to-head advantage with seven draws. South Africa won the most recent series between the sides by two games to one at home, after losing the first game by 123 runs in Johannesburg.
			This is the 9th Test match to be played at Ahmedabad and the home side have won three of them, losing one (to the West Indies in 1983 - their first ever Test here) and four draws. South Africa played here in 1996 and were defeated.
			The first ever Test match between the sides was in Durban in November 1992 at Kingsmead in Durban. Rain ruined the encounter which was intreguingly poised after SA made 254 and then India 277 before the hosts were halted at 176-3. Interestingly, the only man still playing from that day 16 years ago is Sachin Tendulkar and he became the first man ever to be dismissed by TV replay, adjudged run out.
			The highest individual score for India v South Africa is 319 by Virender Sehwag at Chennai in March 2008.
			The highest individual score for South Africa v India is 196 by Herschelle Gibbs at Port Elizabeth in November 2001.
			The best bowling analysis for India v South Africa is 7-84 by Harbhajan Singh at Kolkata in November 2004.
			The best bowling analysis for South Africa v India is 8-64 by Lance Klusener at Kolkata in November 1996.
			West Indian Billy Doctrove comes in for this game and replaces Asad Rauf, while Tony Hill of New Zealand continues in the middle. Sauresh Shastri is the third umpire and former Sri Lankan opener Roshan Mahanama is the match referee.
