Match notes
The result of this match would probably decide the winner of the Championships. Western Australia performed very well to restrict Victoria to just 157 runs in their fifty-five overs and were seemingly well on the way to reaching that total with a first wicket partnership of 69 before Bowyer left. One hundred arrived with only three wickets down by from there it was something of a procession though the lower order did make some attempt at retrieving the situation.
