2013 profile
Glamorgan have signed former Sussex top order batsman Murray Goodwin, initially on a one-year contract for the 2013 season. The 40 year-old former Zimbabwean international has scored over 24,000 runs in all competitions during a twelve year stay with Sussex, during which time the South Coast side have won seven trophies. Whilst with Sussex, Murray hit two triple centuries including a Club record 344* against Somerset in 2009. Originally from Harare, Murray has also spent a number of years in Australia, where he began his first-class career with Western Australia. His Test career ended after the England tour of 2000 and despite playing just 19 Tests, his batting record placed him in the upper echelons of Zimbabwe cricket history. Murray has been signed by Glamorgan to strengthen their batting and in addition to scoring runs in all three formats of the game, the Welsh County are also looking for Goodwin to inspire their young batsmen.
