Bravo is an answer to prayers of the West Indies, players and fans alike, as he set the stages alight with his all-round displays. He made his Test debut against England at Lord's in July 2004, and took three wickets in the first innings with his medium-paced swingers. He also showed a cool enough temperament to bat confidently even though his team faltered against a big England total of 568. England won that series but the West Indian victory was in terms of finding this gem of a cricketer. In Manchester, he first top-scored for the team while batting, and then restricted England with a six-wicket haul. He also hit a maiden 107 against South Africa in at Antigua and followed that up with a spirited 113 against Australia in November 2005. He made his ODI debut against England only but grew in stature in the limited overs version against India at home in May 2006. The famed Indian batting line-up failed to come to terms with his variations and slower ones as well his match-winning contributions with the bat. He slammed his maiden unbeaten ton against England in the 2006-07 in the Champions. Due to injuries to both Sarwan and Gayle, he became acting ODI captain in Zimbabwe in 2007 and also became their latest Test captain when he led them against South Africa in Durban later.
