Armine Wodehouse

Full name:Ernest Armine Wodehouse

Died:9th October 1936, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England
Education:Dulwich; Corpus Christi, Oxford
Biography:Professor of Eng. Litt. at Elphinstone College, Bombay, India. From 1912 ran The Herald of the Star, the mouthpiece of the Theosophical Society. When war broke out in 1914 he joined the Scots Guards, and in May 1918 was severely wounded and invalided out. He continued to run The Herald of the Star. In 1924 joined the Indian Education Service and became Professor of Eng. Litt. at Deccan College, Poona. Also tutored the sons of the Raja of Sangli. Had one book of poems published in England and regularly published others in various periodicals. For some years there was a Wodehouse Road in Colaba, Mumbai, although it has since been renamed Nathilal Parekh Marg.
