When Sachin steered Peter Siddle to third man and got three runs, history was created. He broke Lara's record to be the test cricket's highest run getter.PCA erupted in delight .Crackers were burst.For ten minutes game came to a stand still.11,954 became a magical figure.Teammates were giving a standing ovation.Australians came to congratulate him.It was a great moment for him.He kept looking at the sky.Ex cricketers kept heeping praises on him. But he had his task cut out.Team had lost three quick wickets .Saurav on the other hand was with him when he got his 35th hundred.Another record Sachin has with Saurav on the other end.With 152 matches and 39 hundreds at an average of 54 he is truly a legend.How ironic for Sachin to get it on a day which is a birthday of another legend Anil Kumble.Anil unfortunate to miss out due to injury.Ricky Ponting on the opposite side was watching with keenness. He is probably the dark horse to break this record.The chairman of selectors Srikanth who captained him in his first test was lucky to be there on the ground to watch this special moment and so was other former greats in the commentators box.It was a moment to savour for the entire nation .A legend was writing a script all on his own.But the icing on the cake for him would be to win the Border Gavaskar trophy ,two legends who themselves held this record for a long time and were lucky to witness this great event from the commentators box.A career spanning twenty years, a strength of endurance and skill , perseverance ,determination and dedication the great man still has some cricket left in him.The battle hardened body full of wear and tear is creating ripples in the cricketing world come what the critics have to say about him.
