Day 1:
The last, of the Notts festival week cricket matches, a two-day encounter between Scotland and Sir Julien Cahn's XI, began at Nottingham, yesterday.

Sir Julien Cahn won the toss but elected to put Scotland in on a wicket that looked very firm and easy-paced. Scotland lost A S. B. McNeil with 15 on the board, and half their wickets were down for 70 in just over ninety minutes.

When J. A. Stevenson and A. V. Plowright became associated runs came freely and 77 runs were put on for the sixth wicket before Plowright was caught by H. Mudge. R. E. C. Butterworth took three wickets in seven deliveries for no runs to round-off the innings , making his analysis five for 21. Plowright's 47 was an exhibition of beautiful batting, and the innings closed for 168.

Sir Julien Cahn's XI had made 112 for the loss of only two wickets when stumps were drawn.

Day 2:
The match -between Scotland and Sir Julien Cahn's XI, which concluded at Nottingham yesterday, was drawn.

Morkel was the third man to make his half century, and at lunch, with the total 249 for four, Summers had obtained 49 in thirty-seven minutes, eventually being stumped by A. K. McTavish when he had made 76. A. Paris bowled well yesterday and when the innings closed he had captured six wickets for 97 runs.

Scotland opened their second innings very brightly, Wass and A.S.B. McNeill scoring at a good pace. R.E. C. Butterworth bowled well, and with the aid of C. R. Maxwell as wicketkeeper he dismissed McNeill and G.C. Crerar.
