Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Sohail Tanvir has been confirmed as Victoria's second overseas player for the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash which begins later this month. The bowler, who helped Pakistan win the ICC World Twenty20 earlier this year and the Rajasthan Royals take the inaugural Indian Premier League title in 2008, joins West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo in the Victoria squad.

Tanvir also played for South Australia in last year's competition and he said:

"I’m very excited by the prospect of playing in front of a 'home' crowd at the great MCG, and representing Victoria in this strong competition.

"The Bushrangers have a solid record in the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash so it’s a great honour, and I look forward to playing my part in the team and contributing to some entertaining and successful cricket.

“With so many good players in this year’s tournament – both locally and from overseas – I’m sure it’s going to be a great experience.”

Victoria have won the Big Bash three times, finishing as runners-up to the New South Wales Blues last season.
