West Indies skipper Chris Gayle is upbeat about his side’s four-match ODI series against India, beginning on Friday.

The West Indies knocked India out of the Twenty20 World Cup in England, defeating them in the Super Eight stage earlier this month and although the Indian team will be without some top players, Gayle won't be taking them lightly.

"It is never a walkover against India. There are a lot of guys still there to give us a lot of trouble, so we just have to stick to the game plan and make it a successful one," the ‘Jamaica Observer' quoted Gayle as saying.

The Indian team is travelling without Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan, all out to either fatigue or injury.

Gayle arrived in Jamaica on Monday for the first two One-Day Internationals against India on June 26 and 28 at Sabina Park. Alongside the hard-hitting left-hander were Ramnaresh Sarwan, Jerome Taylor, Xavier Marshall and Donovan Bernard Jr.

"It was very good to reach the semi-final and it will lift our confidence to go out there and perform," Gayle was quoted as saying. "I am disappointed in the way we lost the semi-final but it was a learning experience."

Sarwan also expressed confidence about his form.

"I don't think I have too much problem with my form, it's just unfortunate in the 20/20 game you don't have too much overs," he was quoted as saying.
