ROWE, Francis Coryndon Carpenter.
Amateur.
Born at Columbo, Ceylon, 27th July 1859.
Died at sea on board SS Oruba on a voyage from Australia to England, 5th April 1897. The son of Sir W. Rowe, of Trebursye, Launceston, Cornwall, he was educated at Harrow, where he was a member of the cricket eleven 1877-78 and the football eleven in 1877. He went up to Trinity College, Cambridge, and played for the University 1880-81, winning his blue in 1881. He played a total of six first-class matches and gained his B.A in 1883.
There is no sign of him in the 1881 Census.
