by Dr.A.K.Hignell

Player:FF Worsley

Francis Worsley was the son of Canon Worsley of Llandaff Cathedral, and whilst at Brighton College and Balliol College, Worsley showed promise as a right-handed batsman.

During his university vacations, he also played some useful innings for Cardiff C.C., and these resulted in his selection by Glamorgan for their match at Northampton in August 1922, and their game in September 1923 against Hampshire at the Arms Park.

After coming down, Worsley worked initially in the world of drama and the theatre, before moving into broadcasting and becoming producer of the popular ITMA programme on BBC Radio.
