A profile of Davis Joseph
by Dave Liverman

Player:D Joseph

Davis Joseph is a stalwart of the Canadian national team, having played regularly for over a decade. He has represented his country in four ICC Trophy campaigns, taking 31 wickets at an average of under 23, and will be looking forward to capping his international career with an appearance at the World Cup. He opens the bowling at fast-medium, and although increasing years has resulted in a decline of pace he has gained in experience. He has occasionally made runs with his powerful hitting in the tail. An important component of the 2001 ICC Trophy team, he made a considerable impression in the 2002/03 Red Stripe Bowl, where against top-quality opposition he took 9 wickets at an average of just 15. His most impressive performance for Canada, however, was in the 2000 Red Stripe Bowl when he took 6/39 against a strong Jamaican team. Another career highlight was bowling Tendulkar for just 2 runs at the Commonwealth Games. He plays for Victoria Park CC in the Toronto and District League.
